Dial-a-Phone appoints Phonesync as the supplier for mobile data synchronisation

Phonesync Limited, the UK's leading mobile data synchronisation company and Dial-a-Phone, the UK's No 1 specialist supplier of mobile phones today announced that they have signed a contract to supply Dial-a-Phone's customers with a mobile data backup and synchronisation solution.

 

The contract will see Dial-a-Phone using the Phonesync platform to provide a backup and synchronisation service for their customers' contacts stored on their mobile phones. The company will also deploy Phonesync's web-based online address book.

 

Jonathan Beck, Joint CEO of Dial-a-Phone commented "I look forward to working with Phonesync and to being able to offer our customers protection from losing their important contacts if they are unlucky enough to lose or damage their phone."


Green Cathedral designs a new web site for Warwickshire County Council

Green Cathedral has recently designed the new Warwickshire County Council (WCC) web site, which is a key communications, information and service delivery channel for Warwickshire residents and businesses. Integrating the existing Content Management System and adhering to Accessibility guidelines, we delivered the project on brief, meeting the main objective to create a consistent look and feel whilst facilitating access to a vast amount of information in a simple, intuitive and effective way, appealing to a wide target audience. We are proud to have WCC as part of our local government client portfolio.


The Chartered Society of Designers new website brings 28% increase in members

As for any new website that we design, defining its business objectives and measuring its performance on an ongoing basis is a key metric that we use to enable the client to monitor their ROI and us to monitor the business value that we've delivered to them. So, with the CSD's new website at the forefront of its recruitment initiative to increase its member base, six months after their launch their aim has been fulfilled. The results show significant success with membership up by 28% and 95% of new applicants registering through the website, introducing further ROI through time and cost savings. The website is encouraging a great deal of ‘Internet savvy' young designers to apply. This welcome increase has had a direct effect on the number of membership assessments the CSD arranges; now taking place regionally and involving groups of designers instead of individual applicants. The CSD has also seen a rise in requests for in-house assessments, which it has been trying to promote for several years. Frank Peters, Chief Executive, Chartered Society of Designers, comments: “The lifeblood of any membership organisation relies on attracting younger members and the design and functionality of the new website has not only led to an increase in membership but it has also raised our profile amongst Interactive Media Designers. This has opened up possibilities that we had not considered and which we are now well poised to take advantage of and extend our reach in the design sector.”


Green Cathedral Opens W1 London Office

Green Cathedral is opening new offices in central London. Located in Gloucester Place, W1, the new offices will provide a London base for an ever-growing team of creative designers and digital marketing professionals who enjoy living and working in the capital. Dr Michael Woodley, co-founder and Chief Executive said: “It has always been a goal of ours to give Green Cathedral a presence in London but we never wanted just a token presence. It had to something befitting our heritage of quality and scale. Paul Putwain and I are born and bred Londoners but we chose to build Green Cathedral in Cambridge, close to the technologists who helped create our new medium in the first place. Brett Ford joins GCDM as Client Services Director

GCDM welcomes Brett Ford on board this month as Client Services Director. Brett will be charged with running GCDM Account Management and building client accounts inline with our customers' objectives and digital marketing goals. Brett has extensive experience in client services and the new media industry, having previously worked for MyTv Ltd, a marketing communications company, as their Technology and New Media Director for three years. Prior to this, Brett worked for Saga Group Ltd as their Director of Internet and has also worked for Oceanlife.co.uk, BT Syncordia and Proctor & Gamble. Brett holds a BA (Hons) Media Production Management degree from Hertfordshire University.

Green Cathedral returns to the Sunday Times Tech Track 100

Green Cathedral has achieved 43rd place in the 2005 Sunday Times Tech Track listing and is once again ranked as one of the UK's fastest growing private technology companies, with annualised growth of 90% from 2002 to 2004. This ranking places Green Cathedral as the UK's second fastest growing digital media company. It also places Green Cathedral as the fastest growing private (non-bio) technology company in Cambridge, the technology capital of Europe. The last time the company was listed in the Tech Track was 2001 when Green Cathedral came 5th with an annualised growth rate of 240% from 1998 to 2000. Green Cathedral's return to the Tech Track is testament to the company's long term growth potential and its prudent management through the difficult years of the dot com downturn.


Green Cathedral creates new web site for London Calling

Green Cathedral has redesigned the web site for London Calling, arts marketing and audience development specialists, taking its new corporate identity designed by Graphic Thought Facility, online. A key objective of the new web site was to provide clear and easily navigable information about London Calling's services. The site also incorporates a content management solution and a tool enabling London Calling to generate branded emails to mailing list subscribers. Green Cathedral has also been engaged to develop new distribution technologies for London Calling and to oversee the seamless roll-out of these innovative business solutions phased over the coming months. Green Cathedral Sells 51% of Phonesync to GEM

August 2005

Green Cathedral has completed a deal to sell 51% of Phonesync Limited to Global Emerging Markets, an international investment group with $1.8bn under management. Phonesync was created within Green Cathedral in 2002 and spun out in 2003. The Phonesync product suite includes a platform and a set of applications for synchronising mobile data between a handset and a server within a network operator's infrastructure. Phonesync customers include O2 UK. Sundip Kumar of GEM commented: "The Phonesync team have built a world class company and we are delighted to invest in Phonesync and help take it to its next level of development."


Luminar appoints Green Cathedral for online strategic partnership

Luminar has appointed Green Cathedral to improve its Liquid nightclubs brand experience through a single web site platform for all the 23 Liquid venues around the UK. The project will involve two elements – the design and build of a consumer web site led by compelling creativity and clever, innovative functionality; as well as developing a unique online marketing ‘Toolbox' that incorporates web site management, performance reporting and marketing/brand initiatives all at the click of a button. Green Cathedral has just completed a comprehensive consultancy project involving on-street and in-venue market research; focus groups to drive the creative direction and also technical consultancy. This was critical to ensure the consumer web site meets its key deliverables of developing brand loyalty, capturing data and increasing revenues from their customer base. The site is due to go live later this year. Luminar's business is the most recent addition to Green Cathedral's Key Account Program.


GC redesigns web site for the Chartered Society of Designers

The Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) has praised the design studio at GC for their ‘less is more' approach to CSD's redesigned web site (www.csd.org.uk). GC is delighted to have its creative capabilities recognised by the world's largest chartered body for professional design. The new web site offers members a range of features such as, online designer portfolios and a Designer Select register, which aim to promote the professional practice of design. Frank Peters MCSD, Chief Executive, comments on the new web site “it is clear, precise, logical and visually stunning…it is all and more than I was hoping for”.


Digital Marketing win - Travellers Protection Services

March 2005

Travellers Protection Services (TPS) have just engaged GCDM to undertake its online marketing beginning with a paid keyword campaign as the initial stage of a digital marketing strategy. Working alongside a complete site re-design, GCDM will be engaged to promote TPS in the online travel insurance sector. The aim will be to generate a high volume of sales and to drive down cost per acquisition. GCDM will closely monitor and analyse the results over the first few months and proactively use the results to improve the campaign if necessary to ensure it exceeds the desired performance levels.


John Kinder recruited to head up Sales at GCDM

John Kinder has joined GCDM to head up the sales division. During the last five years, John has worked for Pureprofile and BTLookSmart Europe where he held sales management positions. John Kinder comments: “My ultimate task will be to develop and drive a new sales strategy for GCDM and lead the team to create new revenue streams. My focus will be to acquire new business opportunities and work with Account Management to identify and provide additional services to our existing clients. Phonesync appoints Alan Ranger as CEO

Phonesync, the mobile data synchronisation company created and owned by GC has appointed Alan Ranger as CEO. Alan brings 15 years' experience in telecommunications and software, including recent positions at BroadVision, Surfkitchen and Action Engine. Commenting on his appointment Mr Ranger said: "Since the advent of mobile data services, mobile operators have been searching for compelling solutions that will provide real value for their subscribers. Phonesync is one of the few software companies in the industry that can deliver on this promise and I am delighted to have joined the team to contribute to satisfying this demand."


O2 appoints Phonesync as strategic supplier for mobile data sync

Phonesync has signed a contract to supply O2 with its full mobile back-up and synchronisation solution. The agreement follows the success of market trials last year. O2 has 13.9 million customers in the UK and is the market leader in the provision of mobile data services. The contract will see O2 using the Phonesync platform initially to provide a backup and sync service for its customers' address books, stored in their mobile phones. O2 will also deploy Phonesync's end-to-end, web-based address book management solution. These services protect both O2 and its customers from the implications of lost or stolen handsets as well as completing the smooth transition of handset upgrades for customers. The service will enable all O2 customers to back up all their contact data, whether stored on the handset or the SIM card, using in-store SIM card sync, over-the-air (OTA) SIM card sync and OTA SyncML sync.


GC teams up with Atkins for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council database

In a partnership with Atkins Management Consultants, GC is creating a database for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) to support the Children and Young People's (CYPs) strategy of improving co-ordination, consistency and efficiency of services for CYPs. The functionality and architecture of the database is simple to manage and maintain, enabling different practitioners such as, teachers and social workers to record, share and monitor concerns about CYPs who are considered 'at risk'.


GC gets its teeth into Which? Dentistry campaign

As part of it's ongoing relationship with Which?, GC is supporting the latest campaign - NHS Dental Care Access - online. The technical infrastructure of the site has been specifically developed to provide a seamless process, which enables the public to send personal stories of real-life experiences to the leaders of the main political parties at Westminster, calling on them to make fixing NHS dentistry a priority for the new Parliament.
