Green Cathedral is a privately held technology incubator based in Cambridge.
Having sold our largest operating subsidiary, GCDM Limited, a successful web solutions and digitital marketing business, Green Cathedral is now focused on the development of Internet video and video search technologies.
These activities are taking place in three new Green Cathedral companies: Doovle Limited, Cambridge IPTV Limited and FamilyCam Limited.
Our first significant technology incubation was Clickstream, an unusually accurate and worldwide-patented audience measurement solution for large web site owners. Clickstream Technologies plc was spun out of Green Cathdral in 1999, later sold to private investors. For more, see www.clickstream.com.
In 2003, Green Cathedral spun out Phonesync Limited, a provider of mobile phonebook back-up and synchronisation services, based on SyncML server technology developed from a long term, in-house R&D project. Phonesync was majority sold to a private investment group in 2006.
In 2005, Green Cathedral re-opened its R&D arm to work on IPTV and video search projects. In 2006, GC filed patents for a unique new video sountrack search and non-linear viewing technology, codenamed Doovle®.
This technology enables users to search for words and phrases within any type of digital video content and to jump to and watch the matched scenes across libraries of video immediately. The new spin-out, Doovle Limited, can be found at www.doovle.com.
In 2006, Green Cathedral founded Cambridge IPTV Limited which provides Internet TV channel creation solutions to content owners.
CIPTV has a unique pay-per-minute Internet TV delivery and billing platform that integrates with global content delivery networks, bringing long-format video programming to large potential Internet audiences at the highest viable quality.
In 2008, Green Cathedral founded FamilyCam Limited. FamilyCam (www.familycam.com) is a new online video service whose mission is to make it as easy as possible for its members to enjoy and to organise their full-length home movies and share them securely with trusted friends and family members located anywhere in the world.
FamilyCam offers a suite of scene tagging tools to enable users to write short descriptive tags about different scenes in their movies. Users and their invited guests can then run searches for scenes they've tagged so they can jump to those scenes instantly and enjoy them. The Familycam scene tagging and search technology is supplied by Doovle.
